The Flavian Amphitheatre

I don’t have much to say today. I went to the Roman Forum, the Colosseum and the are where Circus Maximus used to be. The Roman Forum is cool. For the first time this trip I bought an audio guide. If you plan on spending a decent amount of time in the Roman Forum I would recommend it. Because the area is mostly ruins, you really need the historical background to appreciate it. Otherwise, if you are going to go to the Colosseum anyways, it is included and it is worth a brief stroll through.

The Colosseum was about what you would expect. That’s not a bad thing. It is an enormously impressive piece of architecture vast in scale.

Inside the Colosseum

The Colosseum could hold up to 70,000 people

Where Circus Maximus used to be – apparently a decade ago a million people crammed into here to watch a football match
