Paris in 4 Hours

That is the route I took for my whirlwind Paris tour. Not all of it was on foot (A->B and K->A were on the metro). The route also doesn’t show every place I stopped at but it shows the major ones. I wish I had more time in Paris. It is beautiful. I was expecting that I would be disappointed by the city but instead I was blown away. The Eiffel Tower alone is worth going to Paris for. And all I did was walk around it.

Former location of the Bastille prison in Paris (B)

I heard somewhere that Marie Antoinette was beheaded here but I can’t seem to back that up (C)

Notre Dame Cathedral (D)

Musée du Louvre – the building is massive (E)

Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel – not the famous one (F)

Luxor Obelisk (F)

Assemblée Nationale (G)

Pont Alexandre III (G)

I think everyone knows what this is (H)

On my way to Paris I got on the wrong train for the first time. I arrived quite early to Amsterdam Centraal. The platform was marked with my train’s info on it so I hopped on not looking at anything written on the train itself. It left 25 minutes early. I heard someone else ask “Is this the train to Brussels?”. “No” was the reply. I hopped off at the next station it stopped at, still in Amsterdam but maybe 10 or so km away from the centre. I raced to another platform, hopped on a random train heading back to Amsterdam Centraal. It took me about 10 minutes to get to that stop so I knew getting back would be really tight. It wasn’t. Trains outside of Germany and Spain suck and never leave on time so I arrived at the platform my train was leaving on and the train wasn’t even there yet. Sorry for the anti-climatic ending.
